Don’t just communicate. Connect to create healthier work life.

Welcome. Thank you for finding your way here and being curious about connection. Do you think connective leaders are wired differently? Those culture-shaping executives inspired to empower themselves and their teams to lead (and live) well? My vision for what work can be is that we all move beyond the business case to the business of being connected. Create high performance harmony of trusting relationships and results. My work is for those ready to clarify and articulate their leadership presence, intentionally ground and grow connection, and shape connective cultures to change work for the better. Leaders who don’t just communicate, but actually connect, create cultures people choose to belong in. How we connect now determines who we’ll get to work with and what we’ll be able to achieve. Connection is the greatest creative opportunity leaders have today - and the most practical way to achieve the extraordinary. That’s what inspires me. Maybe you too?

I learned about the psychological and social science of humans at work alongside global peers (MSc, London School of Economics; BCom, McGill University) but discovered, as many leaders do, that the working reality was quite different than the theories. I have felt the pain of disconnection (mental, emotional, physical, relational). The struggle in systems structured to generate it. And so have my clients. Highly skilled leaders who can’t have the impact or experience they want to have — until they approach leadership and communication differently. 

While leading cross-functional teams on enterprise communication, employee engagement, and change initiatives at one of Canada’s largest, strongest, best-branded banks, I experienced how the best business case isn’t always enough to move people forward together. Trust was often missing but it was unclear how to create it. Communication and business plans don’t always produce progress. Top talent can get caught compromising their relationships and well-being to deliver results. Because we aren’t taught the practical ways to cultivate meaningful connection. Powerful connection starts with strong self leadership.

I started asking more questions I didn’t know the answer to and seeing where that led. I discovered how to tap more of the executive brain and our full capacity for creation and change in order to build trust and more deeply connect. That connection is what transforms people into their extraordinary selves. All this refined my passion: partnering with people as they actively shape their experience, and in so doing, a healthier new world of work life.

Connection requires deep self-awareness, skill, and specific intention. Working hard and communicating often isn’t enough. I set out to build a formula for connection that would help more people create sustainable success. I believe we can all experience more valuable work when connected - to ourselves and others - well. My approach combines brain science, business experience, subconscious change processes and communications expertise to help clients Lead from Common Ground®. This means succeeding at work (and outside it) without sacrificing wellness. Moving from meaning to momentum, clarity to creation, awareness to action, through relationships that make it all work. A true leader’s highest contribution is connection.

I help assess, clarify and deepen leadership awareness and presence for optimal growth. I help shape strategic belief systems to support behavioural change that feels aligned and effective (just call me ‘Reframe Ame’). My work combines subconscious and conscious methods for supporting human systems through change.
